WHY WE EXIST
Hello, and welcome to VT Skill! We are more than just a website, we are a dedicated, independent community built around the future of Vocational Education in India.
Our Story
In 2020, when the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) was announced, it brought a massive wave of hope. Ideas like “Bagless days!” and “Vocational education from Class 6!” sounded like a dream for India’s youth.
But we know that dreams do not run on PowerPoint slides or paper policies. They run on teachers who show up every day, labs that actually have equipment, and students who are excited to learn. Over the years, while schools added “skill subjects” to their timetables, the ground reality remained messy. Vocational teachers were still fighting for visibility, students were confused about whether a skill certificate was actually “worth it,” and parents continued pushing kids toward traditional academic subjects.
We got tired of waiting for someone else to fix the system. We realized India’s vocational education system needed an independent voice. That is exactly why VT SKill was born.
Our Mission
Our goal is simple: to build the skill capital of tomorrow by making vocational education visible, valuable, and voice-driven.
We decode complex educational guidelines—like the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) and the National Credit Framework (NCrF)—into simple, actionable information. We believe that:
- Every student deserves to learn practical skills that pay the bills.
- Every vocational teacher deserves respect, fair pay, and a platform to be heard.
- Every parent deserves clear, honest information about NEP 2020.
What We Cover at VT SKILL
We connect the dots so you do not have to. From syllabus breakdowns to real-world applications, we cover the full journey:
- Classes 6 to 8 (Pre-Vocational): We focus on foundational initiatives like Kaushal Bodh and the mandatory 10-day Bagless Period, ensuring young kids truly experience the joy of “Learning by Doing.”
- Classes 9 to 12 (Kaushal Vikash): We provide practical notes and subject-specific guides for core vocational streams like IT & ITeS, Automotive, Healthcare, Retail, and Agriculture.
- Policy to Practice: Whether it is a funding update under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan or a new module from PSSCIVE and NCERT, we translate high-level government policies into what they actually mean for your classroom.
Our Core Values: What Makes Us Different
- Honesty Over Hype: We do not just copy-paste government press releases. We talk to teachers, visit schools, and read the fine print. If a scheme is failing on the ground, we say it. If a school is doing amazing work with zero resources, we celebrate it.
- Teachers First: Vocational teachers are the backbone of this system. When you thrive, students thrive. We prioritize your problems and your solutions.
- Student-Centered: Every article and policy analysis we publish must answer one simple question: “How does this help the student?”
More Than a Blog—It’s Your Platform
VT Skill is not a news website run by one person in a closed room. It is a collaborative blogging platform built for the community. We designed our “Post an Article” feature so that the people doing the real work can share their stories directly:
- Trainer’s Voice: Written by teachers, not journalists. Vocational trainers from all over the country use this space to share their real-world classroom challenges and innovative teaching methods.
- Student Experience: Written by students, not PR teams. Tell the world what it is like studying a vocational subject, building hands-on projects, and gaining modern Employability or Green Skills.
- Citizen Opinions: A space for parents, education researchers, and industry experts from Sector Skill Councils to ask the questions everyone else is afraid to ask.
